NATIONAL TRANSITION EVENT: HOW IT CAME ABOUT

In February 2019, Mission Motorsport held a hugely successful Troops Track Day at Silverstone. Bringing together 340 Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) Service people and employers together at a fantastic venue it also proved to be a valuable networking opportunity putting people in front of those ordinarily not accessible.

With the Mission Automotive initiative gaining traction the charity was able to realise its aspirations and replicate this fantastic day, but with a focus on giving those transitioning from the Services, Veterans and their Spouses the information to help them plan their next career. The Inaugural National Transition Event was held on 11th February 2020 at the iconic Silverstone Race Track. Over 70 companies, many of whom are on their own Covenant journey from Bronze to Gold and Mission Automotive members, were invited to attend.

A valuable Networking Opportunity

NTE offers a unique opportunity for the Armed Forces community to connect with companies who value their skills and experiences. This event is not a traditional employment fair; it's a chance for meaningful engagement with businesses that understand the transition from military to civilian life. Attendees can gain first hand insights from ex-military employees, receive tailored advice, and explore a variety of career opportunities. It's an event that recognises the potential of the Armed Forces via the creation of ‘a community of communities’.
