Mission Motorsport Launches the 11th Race of Remembrance at Thruxton

On Friday 3rd October 2025, Mission Motorsport proudly hosted the launch of the 11th Race of Remembrance (RoR) at Thruxton Circuit, supported by our valued partners Wera Tools and Davanti Tyres

The day brought together press, sponsors, volunteers, race teams and members of the Armed Forces community for a celebration of recovery, remembrance, and motorsport. It also offered a first look at some of the exciting projects that will take centre stage during the Race of Remembrance weekend at Anglesey.

A Celebration of Recovery Through Motorsport

This year’s launch was a vibrant showcase of motorsport as a tool for recovery and wellbeing. The day gave serving personnel, veterans, and their families the chance to come together, share experiences, and enjoy a programme packed with high-octane activity and community spirit.

A major highlight of the day was the opportunity for guests to experience passenger rides around Thruxton Circuit. A dynamic mix of race and road cars took to the track, giving attendees the full-force thrill of motorsport from the passenger seat.

Chrissie, one of the attendees, summed up the feeling perfectly:“My face hurts from smiling on all the passenger rides I’ve experienced today. The rain did not dampen such an incredible day.”

Her words reflected the spirit of everyone present - rain or shine, the sense of joy and togetherness was impossible to miss.

Set up on the central tarmac there were other activities to enjoy. The split-control “Lightning McQueen” MX-5 offered a chance for guests to practise communication and teamwork on a coned course and beside it in the Autotest area, drivers took on a series of technical challenges.

Mission Motorsport was honoured to welcome beneficiaries and staff from a number of partner organisations, including: Family Activity Breaks (FAM) – supporting bereaved families, Walking With The Wounded, Royal Hospital Chelsea, The Taxi Charity and BLESMA.

Over 100 beneficiaries and guests joined the event, many of whom were attending a Mission Motorsport activity for the first time. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and inclusion, as people from across the Armed Forces community came together to share stories, experiences, and support.

Looking Ahead to Anglesey

As the rain cleared and engines cooled, there was no doubt that the 2025 Race of Remembrance Launch had been a resounding success. The day captured everything Mission Motorsport stands for - recovery, remembrance, and the healing power of shared passion.

With the continued support of Wera Tools, Davanti Tyres, and our incredible volunteers, the event set the perfect tone for the Race of Remembrance weekend, 8-9 November, at Anglesey Circuit.
