Mission London Marathon

  • Chris Cleary to run the London Marathon in a bid to raise funds and awareness for Mission Motorsport.

Long-term friend and supporter of Mission Motorsport, Chris Cleary is taking on this year’s London Marathon raising funds and awareness for The Forces Motorsport Charity.

Since the first event in 1981, the London Marathon has continued to grow each year. Event highlights include:

  • More than one million finishers since 1981, with the millionth finisher crossing the line in 2016

  • Becoming the largest annual one-day fundraising event in the world, with the total raised for charities in the history of the event surpassing £1 billion in 2019

  • Seven world records broken in the history of the event, including Paula Radcliffe’s historic time of 2:15:25 in 2003

Talking about the race Chris said, “After over a decade running with the Hereford Couriers, I'm proud to be running for them in the best event in the world. I'm hitting the streets for Mission Motorsport, a charity close to my heart that helps veterans transition back to civilian life. The team helped me massively during my time of need and I would really like to help them out in whatever small way I can.”

Chris has set himself a target of raising £1000 and is keeping the charity up-to-date with his training on his JustGiving Page as he prepares to conquer the 26.2 miles around London on April 21st, 2024.. He continued, “Whether it's a few pounds or a fistful of encouragement, every bit counts. Together, we can make a real difference for veterans and show some love from this amazing running community.”
