There are now less than four weeks to go until Mission Motorsport’s major annual community gathering, the National Transition Event (NTE), opens its doors at Silverstone Circuit and the Silverstone Conference Centre on Monday 2 March. The event is once again backed by Amentum, a long-standing and highly supportive partner.
Now in its 7th year, the NTE will once again deliver a unique get-together, offering vital support for those leaving the Armed Forces and the Veteran community as they seek new career opportunities.
The event is backed by the Ministry of Defence and the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, and arranged in connection with Mission Community in partnership with many of the UK’s largest and most well-known businesses, organisations, and agencies. The charity is proud to announce once again that leading Armed Forces community supporter Amentum leads the industry line-up of organisations as headline sponsor.
A wide range of industry sectors will be represented on the day, including defence, automotive, transport, clean energy, construction, aerospace, logistics, utilities, emergency services, and the public sector.
March’s event will provide military Service Leavers, Veterans, Reservists and Cadets – supported by their families – with the opportunity to experience meaningful engagement with businesses which understand the journey to successfully transition to civilian life. Exhibitors in the Silverstone Conference Centre will offer first-hand insights from ex-military employees and provide tailored advice, whether an individual is just starting their resettlement journey or is a seasoned Veteran.
The NTE will be delivered by businesses, organisations, and government agencies which truly value the vast and varied experience offered by those who have served in the Armed Forces. In total, close to 2,000 participants are expected to attend.
James Cameron, CEO, MISSION MOTORSPORT: “The key aims of the NTE are simple – to widen the horizons of attendees, help them access any support they may need, recognise their potential, and showcase new career opportunities. It is also about enabling attendees to network with UK industries and offer engagement leads. Companies like Amentum are exemplars in this support and benefit from all that the Armed Forces bring to their teams.”
As an added attraction on the day, the Mission Motorsport team will also be providing a ‘Troops’ Track Day’. The feature will give Service Leavers, Veterans, and their families an unforgettable and thrilling experience, with opportunities for supercar passenger laps around the legendary Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
Previous drivers at this event have included former Top Gear presenter, motoring journalist, and racing driver Chris Harris; Ben Collins, the former Top Gear ‘Stig’; and 11-time World Cycling and six-time Olympic Cycling Gold Medalist, Sir Chris Hoy. New for 2026 will be the Cadet Challenge hosted by BFBS E-Sports team.
Cameron added: “When I got back from Afghanistan, I set up a motorsport charity that has grown into this wonderful community movement. Mission Motorsport is the Forces Motorsport Charity, so to see it bring others together on one day at the NTE fills me with an enormous sense of pride, knowing that so many lives will change as a result. You simply must experience the magic for yourself on 2 March.”
