National Transition Event
2 March 2026
The National Transition Event returns to Silverstone on 2nd March for its 7th successive year. Even if you’ve been before, there are some compelling reasons to return as we come together to celebrate a national asset: the UK’s Armed Forces community!
Not only do we have guaranteed 100 fast cars already booked in, revved up and ready to help guide you around the world famous GP Circuit for our Troops’ Track Day, but for those keen on E-Sports, we have worked in an exciting new zone to cater for your every needs, thanks to our friends at BFBS.
An objective for 2026 is centred around removing barriers. Data from pervious registrations tells us that families do indeed attend NTE, so this year, we aim to help even more with the inclusion of Early Years care provision (2-4 years) in collaboration with Service charity RAFA Kidz who will be providing childcare on site. This is the first time that an event of this kind has innovated this way, and we believe should be the norm, perfectly complementing our Families’ Zone introduced in 2024.
Last year, we introduced our Community Stage, and this year we are expanding the content with a series of ‘Veterans in Industry’ panels alongside guest presentations from the Cadets and a range of other contributors
Of course, you can still expect the usual staples of NTE, life-changing conversations, great brands and fast cars. 2026 looks set to deliver even more!

Scalextric Donates £2,520 to Mission Motorsport
At the January Scramble at Bicester Heritage, Scalextric Brand Manager Simon Owen presented Mission Motorsport CEO James Cameron with a £2,520 donation. This builds on a brilliant partnership that raised £15,000 during 2025 alongside Hagerty.
Thanks to Scalextric prizes and Hagerty’s generous hospitality, volunteers engaged the public with slot track racing while raising vital funds to support Mission Motorsport’s work.
With the partnership confirmed for 2026, Scalextric and Hagerty will continue bringing motorsport enjoyment to veterans and their families. A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this partnership such a success.

Mission Motorsport is delighted to announce that Nottingham Sports Car Club has generously donated £400 to support our work.
Zoe from Nottingham Sports Car Club said: “On behalf of Nottingham Sports Car Club, I'm thrilled that we can provide this donation to Mission Motorsport. As a Club that runs motorsport events and a Speed Championship, we know the benefits that being involved in the motorsport community can bring to people. CAT Driver Training Charity Smiles Pot Smash & Book Sales Raises £1,359.46
In 2025, the CAT Driver Training Smiles Pot Smash raised an impressive £2,075, generated through CAT donating £10 per participating Road, Race and Track clients plus several generous additional client donations. With Jo, Colin and Kevin, Mission Motorsport was selected as one of five charities to receive support from the pot smash.
Alongside this, continued support has come through sales of Colin Hoad’s books, How to Start Racing and Your Track Day Guide. Royalties from these titles are donated to Mission Motorsport, and 2025 book sales raised £944.46 for the charity.
Combined, these contributions bring Mission Motorsport’s total donation for 2025 to £1,359.46. We are extremely grateful to CAT, their clients, and everyone involved for their ongoing support and generosity.
Thank you to Phil and Shirley of PS Images, who have created a stunning 2026 calendar using their photography and raised £250 for Mission Motorsport through calendar sales.
Thank you to Activate Group for their generous £400 donation to Mission Motorsport, made through the employee nomination scheme. Thank you as well to the mystery employee for nominating us!
Modified Ford Series Awards Night Raises £1,000 for Mission Motorsport
Rob Lewis and the committee for the Modified Ford Series had their annual awards night on Saturday and raised £1000 on the raffle for mission motorsport! The Series owner, Paul Neville said, “I’ll be honest and say, while there are many deserving charities, support for the Armed Forces has always stood out for me. These men and women provide our country with security, respect, and the freedom we take for granted every day. To serve is a life choice and it can be a life-defining experience. Although for some, it can also be profoundly life changing.
“Together with the Modified Ford community, I am honoured to be able donate the £1,000 proceeds from our raffle to Mission Motorsport, in the hope we can help support those in need, in a way that’s directly associated with something we enjoy, and in doing so, improve the lives of those that have given so much for us.”

New PTSD Therapy Study for UK Military Veterans – Participants Needed
The FIRST PETT Study Team at King’s College London is inviting UK military veterans to take part in an exciting new mental health therapy study. The FIRST PTSD Experimental Treatment Trial (FIRST PETT) is testing a psychological therapy called Fast Imagery Reversal Script for Trauma-release (FIRST), designed to be comfortable, non-traumatising, short in duration, and non-intrusive. This study builds on promising earlier results with ex-servicemen and women.
We are now aiming to recruit 215 veterans who have PTSD or are experiencing PTSD symptoms. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to receive FIRST therapy immediately or join a waiting list to receive it after 24 weeks. Therapy is delivered online over 3–4 sessions, and the study will evaluate its effectiveness.
Veterans can learn more and apply to take part here: https://www.inspirewellbeing.org/firstpett-project/
