Mission Motorsport Thanks CAT Driver Training for 'Charity Smiles' Donation
Mission Motorsport, the Forces’ Motorsport Charity, wishes to say a big thank you to the team at CAT Driver Training for their continued support, having gratefully received a donation of more than £1,300 from the company’s annual ‘Charity Smiles Pot Smash’ as well as book sales profits.
Founded by Colin and Jo Hoad, CAT Driver Training is an evidence-based, engineering-led driver development company specialising in true vehicle dynamics. Since 2005, CAT has delivered bespoke training across Road, Track, Race and the Motor Industry, combining advanced coaching qualifications with deep mechanical understanding to develop drivers’ car control and dynamic capability.
CAT has long supported Mission Motorsport’s work and from the 2025 Charity Smiles Pot Smash, where Jo Hoad quite literally smashes the charity pot during a live draw before a randomly selected client chooses where the raised funds are donated, Mission Motorsport was a lucky recipient.
The Pot Smash is CAT’s yearly fundraising initiative which brings together Road, Race and Track clients to support charities which matter to them. CAT donates £10 into the charity pot for every participating client, while some clients also choose to add their own donations as well.
Raising over £2,000 in total from the 2025 event, Mission Motorsport has received £415 from the pot smash – one of five charities involved – and an additional £944.46 through sales of Colin Hoad’s publications ‘How to Start Racing’ and ‘Your Track Day Guide’. Colin donates all profits from book sales directly to Mission Motorsport.
Jo Hoad, CAT Driver Training:
“Charity Smiles has always been about giving something back in a way that feels genuine. The Pot Smash is a bit of fun, but the impact behind it is very real. We’re grateful to our clients for getting involved and helping us support causes that matter to them.”
James Cameron, Mission Motorsport:
“Support like this makes a real difference to the people we work with. CAT’s continued commitment, both through Charity Smiles and book sales, helps us provide meaningful opportunities for those recovering from injury or illness through motorsport.”
Charity Smiles was launched by CAT Driver Training in 2019 and, since that time, the fundraising has totalled a wonderful £18,647.64. All at Mission Motorsport express sincere gratitude to Colin and Jo for their continued and very gratefully received support.
