Brews, Banter & Cars - The Final MM event of the year!

Yesterday saw the team host the last Banter, Brews & Cars event at Three Sisters and the final MM event of 2023 for a day of passenger rides, driver development, and a Christmas jumper competition.

Treated to another fantastic track event in the north, we were joined by 20 cheery beneficiaries from Hackney to Newcastle. Mainly repeat customers, we were thrilled to be joined by three chaps from BLESMA who were happy to just have a brew in the café and a chin wag amongst like-minded people.

Ten drivers supported us on the day including beneficiary Cliff Hall and his son. The event, centered around the people attracted some pretty cool machines including a refreshed Mk1 Escort with a decent provenance; The Pinderwagon – a 500bhp Mk2 Golf on steroids; an immaculate Honda Civic (meh), an old school Rover race car.

The mighty Mission Motorsport Beer Mountain C1 also made an appearance with all the beneficiaries taking advantage of the opportunity to get behind the wheel and enjoy some instruction. A highlight of the day and wonderful to see, Danny, fresh off the back of his race debut at RoR, utilised his newfound confidence and driving skills helping others to get to grips with the car and track. Racing has been instrumental in helping Danny to manage his own well-being.

Bringing a bit of festive cheer to the event, we laid on mince pies and fizzy pop and held a Best Christmas Jumper Competition. The winner, Lee Ashton, was the excited recipient of a brand new Scalextric set, donated by the toy maker.

We'd like to extend our thanks to the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund, BAE Systems, Three Sisters and of course, our army of volunteers and drivers for all their support this year Without it, we would not be able to deliver #recoverysport events to the local armed forces community.

2024 is set to be our best yet and we have plenty of events coming to Wigan in 2024! Find our 2024 dates here.
