A Day Among Engines and Aviation Icons: Mission Motorsport Visits Millington Engines

In a unique and unforgettable experience, a group of beneficiaries from Mission Motorsport recently had the privilege of touring the renowned Millington Engines facility. Known for their high-performance motorsport engines and deep engineering expertise, Millington welcomed the group for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into their world—combining cutting-edge automotive innovation with a surprise dose of aviation heritage.

Engineering Excellence Up Close

From the moment they arrived, the visitors were met with a warm and enthusiastic reception from the Millington team. The tour began with a comprehensive walkthrough of the engine-building process—from raw components to fully assembled power units—offering insight into the precision, craftsmanship, and passion that go into every engine the company produces.

Beneficiaries had the chance to see rare and bespoke projects in progress, gaining a deeper understanding of what it takes to operate at the highest level of motorsport engineering. For many, it was a rare opportunity to engage with the technical side of motorsport in a hands-on, immersive way.

As part of the visit, the group was invited to explore Millington’s private yard—an area filled not only with automotive history but a remarkable collection of gas turbines and aviation artifacts. Among the standout moments was the chance to see a Harrier jump jet not just up close, but fired up—its unmistakable roar creating a spine-tingling experience for everyone present.

One beneficiary summed up the magic of the day:

"I just wanted to extend my gratitude for the opportunity to visit Millington Engines today—what an incredible experience at such a lovely place. We received a warm welcome and a brilliant insight into the business and their machines. It was made even better by them sharing their love of aviation. To get to wander around their yard and witness not only their gas turbine collection but to see and hear the Harrier making noises was amazing. I really was like a kid in a sweet shop and genuinely would have liked to stay longer."
