LATEST NEWS
As we celebrate 14 years of service, we’re marking the start of a new era for Mission Motorsport
After fourteen consecutive years of growth, our Founder, James Cameron, is stepping down as CEO. Following a well-earned sabbatical, he will continue to champion our work as Founder & Advocate, supporting both Mission Motorsport and Mission Community.
We’re delighted to welcome Alex Atherton as our new Managing Director. A former Lt Col with 20 years’ service in the Army and experience in the commercial sector, Alex will lead the next phase of our mission to support the Armed Forces community.
Our focus remains unchanged: serving those who have served.

National Transition Event 2026 a Huge Success at Silverstone
Nearly 2,300 people gathered at Silverstone for Mission Motorsport’s National Transition Event, making it one of the largest and most Armed Forces Communityevents of its kind in the UK. The event brought together more than 200 exhibitors from industry, government and the charity sector, offering valuable advice, career opportunities and support to Service Leavers, Veterans, Reservists, Military Spouses Cadets as they transition to civilian life.
The event was proudly supported by headline sponsor Amentum, alongside a wide range of organisations committed to supporting the Armed Forces community. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with employers, explore new career pathways and gain practical guidance for life beyond military service.
Alongside the main event, the exciting Troops’ Track Day on Silverstone’s iconic Grand Prix circuit added to the experience, giving participants the chance to enjoy hot laps and the thrill of motorsport.

Veterans @ Heritage: Introduction to 4x4 Driving at Bicester
We hosted our first Veterans @ Heritage event of the year at Bicester Heritage, with members of the Armed Forces community enjoying a full day of 4x4 fun. Hosted in the Hagerty Clubhouse and supported by Bicester Motion, attendees got behind the wheel of a range of vehicles, including adapted cars with hand controls and experienced low-level 4x4 driving in a safe, controlled environment.
Volunteer drivers from the local 4x4 community helped provide passenger rides, while a couple of Ariel Nomads added extra excitement (and mud!) to the day. Tea and coffee were available throughout, and the Hagerty simulator, pool table, and Clubhouse provided a relaxed base for the event. It was a fantastic day of adventure, laughter, and recovery sport for the Armed Forces community,
Sign up is now ready for the next Veterans @ Heritage: Easter Event is on 2nd April 2026.

FUNDRAISING
Members of The Independent Porsche Enthusiast Club raises £1400 for Mission Motorsport by Steve Milnes.
The North West Region of the Independent Porsche Enthusiasts Club once again used its December Club Night, including a Quiz, Raffle and Prize Draw to raise money for charity. This year the region’s membership chose to raise money for Mission Motorsport, with whom they also hold an annual event, to provide passenger rides for the Charity’s beneficiaries.
Due to the generosity of prizes donated by Official Porsche Centres Bolton and Preston, Jasmine Porschalink and Kraft Independent Porsche Specialists, along with that of club members who supported the December Club Night, the region was able to raise £1,400.00 on the night.
On 10 February, the region had the pleasure of welcoming Mission Motorsport’s Operations Manager, Mark White, and Workshop Manager, Aston Dimmock, to Official Porsche Centre Bolton. Representing OPC Bolton was Head of Business, Steve Webb. The club’s Joint Regional Organiser, Steve Milnes, presented the cheque to Mark and Aston, who accepted it on behalf of Mission Motorsport.
“The club would like to thank everyone who helped raise this money for such a worthwhile cause: - Official Porsche Centres Bolton and Preston, Jasmine Porschalink, Kraft Independent Porsche Specialist and our very generous members without whom, we would not have been able to raise so much for such a worthwhile cause.”
Mission Motorsport Thanks CAT Driver Training for Charity Donation
Mission Motorsport would like to thank CAT Driver Training for their continued support after receiving more than £1,300 through the company’s annual ‘Charity Smiles Pot Smash’ fundraiser and book sales.
The initiative brings together CAT’s road, race and track clients to support charities that matter to them. Funds were raised through client contributions and sales of Colin Hoad’s books, How to Start Racing and Your Track Day Guide, with all profits donated to Mission Motorsport.
The generous donation will help support the charity’s work providing recovery opportunities for members of the Armed Forces community through motorsport.

FIRST PTSD Experimental Treatment Trial
The FIRST PTSD Experimental Treatment Trial (FIRST PETT) is evaluating a new psychological therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) called Fast Imagery Reversal Script for Trauma-release (FIRST). The therapy is designed to be comfortable, non-traumatising, short duration and non-intrusive. This current study builds on promising results from earlier work with ex-servicemen and women.
Aiming to recruit 215 UK military veterans who have PTSD or are experiencing PTSD symptoms, eligible participants will be randomly allocated to receive FIRST therapy immediately, or to join a waiting list and receive the therapy after 24 weeks. The therapy itself is delivered online over 3-4 sessions and the study will be assessing its effectiveness.
Veterans can learn more and apply to take part in the study on the website: https://www.inspirewellbeing.org/firstpett-project/ . Have a look at their supporting Facebook group here.
North Hertfordshire College currently has a number of vacancies available and is particularly keen to hear from veterans who may be interested in joining their team.
