Expert driver coach Colin Hoad takes up ambassadorial role with Mission Motorsport
Long-time supporter of the Forces’ Motorsport Charity delighted to accept invitation
CAT Driver Training enhances professional partnership with Mission Motorsport
Mission Motorsport is proud to this morning announce Colin Hoad, founder and chief instructor at the renowned CAT Driver Training, has accepted an invitation to become an official ambassador for the Forces’ Motorsport Charity.
Colin, who is a long-time supporter of Mission Motorsport’s vital work with wounded and injured service leavers and veterans from the Armed Forces, now takes up an ambassadorial role which will only enhance the incredible patronage he has given to the charity year-on-year.
In a career spanning well over 20 years, Colin has coached on more than 350 track days at circuits across the UK, as well as at high-profile European motorsport venues such as the legendary Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and Germany’s Nurburgring.
His prized high-performance driver training centre based at UTAC Millbrook in Bedfordshire has coached over 8,400 clients and is a key component of the coaching of Mission Motorsport’s many beneficiaries, who go on to compete in the annual Race of Remembrance each Remembrance Weekend at Anglesey Circuit in North Wales.
Moreover, Colin himself is a regular participant in RoR and earlier this year CAT Driver Training held a VIP fundraising Performance Driver Group Day in addition to support from CAT’s annual ‘Charity Smiles Pot Smash’, along with profits from the sale of Colin’s books ‘How to Start Racing’ and ‘Your Track Day Guide’ and leading sponsor in 2019 with partnership branding all participating cars.
Indeed since 2019, when CAT Driver Training launched its Charity Smiles initiative, Colin and his wife Jo Hoad have driven donations totaling more than £11,000 to Mission Motorsport – underlining the incredible support and commitment which is shown to this day.
It’ll come as no surprise to learn CAT Driver Training Ltd has 1,326 five-star reviews on Trustpilot, with the company’s instructing team holding the highest qualifications the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) awards – in addition to Accredited Coaching Driver Development skills.
Colin Hoad, Founder and Chief Instructor, CAT Driver Training:
“It’s been Jo and mine’s pleasure to quietly support Mission Motorsport in the background over the last 8 years. Actively participating in the Race of Remembrance has been my personal privilege. To now become an Ambassador is an honour, inspiring my thoughts which are already underway to continue building support for this vital work.”
Alex Atherton, Managing Director, Mission Motorsport:
“Colin and Jo have been unwavering friends and supporters of Mission Motorsport for many years, generously sharing their time and expertise to help transform the lives of our beneficiaries through the unique power of motorsport. It is a pleasure to welcome Colin formally into the Mission Motorsport family as an Ambassador, and we look forward to achieving great things together in the years ahead.”
