Forces Families' Track Day at Croft Circuit - A Day of Speed and Support at Croft

Engines roared and adrenaline filled the air at Croft Circuit on Tuesday 19th August, as more than 400 people came together for the Mission Motorsport Forces Family Track Day.

Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire, a 2.1-mile (3.4 km) track with a rich history as a WWII RAF bomber airfield, proved to be the perfect backdrop for a day of high-octane fun. Generous drivers, whose track fees directly support the charity, opened their passenger seats to members of the Armed Forces community. Among the cars taking to the tarmac were a Ford GT40, a Ford Mustang, and a Porsche Cayman GT4, delighting all who attended.

Alongside the main event, younger enthusiasts aged 12 and above got behind the wheel of Mission Motorsport’s dual-control MX-5s, while families enjoyed the split-control Lightning McQueen experience, where parents and children could take on the course together.

Off the track, the Military Village was busy with nearly 30 stands showcasing charities, organisations, and veteran-led small businesses. Visitors explored everything from handmade crafts and dog accessories to stands from Walking with the Wounded, Great North Air Ambulance, Help for Heroes, the Royal British Legion, Sea Cadets, AFVBC, and The Viking Boat Company. With face painting, clothing, and much more, the village offered something for everyone.

A heartfelt thank you goes to BARC, Auto RARA, our fantastic drivers, and the many volunteers who made the day possible. A special mention to volunteer Maci, who joined us for work experience with Auto RARA and captured her experience in a brilliant blog—read her story here.

Through days like this, Mission Motorsport continues to deliver recovery motorsport experiences that bring the Armed Forces community together, giving beneficiaries, families, and carers the chance to share unforgettable moments both on and off the track.
