Mission Motorsport Racemakers Shine at Silverstone

This year’s MotoGP and Formula 1 weekends at Silverstone marked more than just thrilling races, they were milestone moments for Mission Motorsport’s Race Makers. Beneficiaries like Spencer Wuidart Gray and Nick Owen proudly stood on the F1 grid, presenting the race flag—a symbol of how far our partnership with Silverstone has come. For over a decade, the Race Maker programme has offered veterans purpose, camaraderie, and personal growth through motorsport. From wet-weather resilience to flawless teamwork, our Race Makers embodied professionalism and passion.

Mission: Possible – Mission Motorsport Featured in IMI’s MotorPro Magazine

We’re proud to share that Mission Motorsport has been featured in a special article titled “Mission: Possible” in the latest edition of MotorPro magazine, published by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and available to all IMI members. The article highlights the journeys of two LVMR (Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair) students, Laurence Roke, a graduate who shares how the course helped launch his career, and Steven Skakle, a current trainee who explains why he chose Mission Motorsport for his training and the valuable skills he’s gaining.

Both students were trained by our Workshop Manager, Aston Dimmock, whose extensive mechanical knowledge and dedication continue to make a lasting impact on our beneficiaries.

This feature comes shortly after IMI signed the Armed Forces Covenant, announced at the Automechanika Motorvate event, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the military community.

Welsh Veterans Awards 2025 ‘Role Model of the Year’, awarded to Daisy, Mission Community

We are incredibly proud to share that our very own Daisy Coleman was named ‘Role Model of the Year 2025’ at the Welsh Veterans Awards, held in early July.

Sponsored by the Forces Employment Charity, this prestigious award recognises Daisy’s exceptional commitment to the Armed Forces community and her remarkable personal journey. From serving in the Royal Artillery and overcoming life-changing challenges, to becoming a world champion in powerboat racing, Daisy’s story continues to inspire.

Through her role with Mission Motorsport and her work leading Mission Community, Daisy champions the Armed Forces community within industry, helping to create lasting opportunities and meaningful impact. Beyond her role with the charity, she has also founded Redberth Croft, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting veterans and individuals facing complex challenges.

Congratulations to our Beneficiary Volunteers on Marshal Upgrade

We are pleased to congratulate Linda Noble and Lee Ashton, Mission Motorsport beneficiaries and long-standing volunteers, on achieving their Accredited Off-Track Grade 1 Marshal status.

Both Linda and Lee have been familiar and valued presence at many of our events over the years. This year, they have upgraded from a Registered Marshal to a Level 1 Off-Track Marshal.

Responsibilities include monitoring race control radio communications, issuing penalties, displaying flags and safety boards from the start line, and stepping in as Start Line Chief when required. They also play a key role in ensuring safety compliance within the pit lane during race sessions.

An Unexpected Visit with a Lasting Impact

We were delighted to welcome Josh and his son Jacob, visiting from the United States, to this year’s Meyrick Cox Day

A change in their travel plans meant they found themselves at Goodwood on 13th June, rather than 13th July—the intended date for their Festival of Speed visit. In a generous gesture, they chose to donate their tickets to a deserving Mission Motorsport beneficiary.

Josh shared how personally meaningful the day was. His grandfather, a U.S. Army captain, had been stationed in the UK prior to D-Day and was seriously injured by a V2 rocket shortly after being discharged from a London military hospital.
